“When you can do the common things of life in an uncommon way, you will command the attention of the world.” – George Washington Carver
Welcome! Have a click around - you're sure to find something that motivates or inspires you to live with more intensity and purpose. “Help me to accomplish the purpose of my journey.” - Genesis 24:12, A Servant’s Prayer “When you can do the common things of life in an uncommon way, you will command the attention of the world.” – George Washington Carver People are often unreasonable, illogical, and self-centered; Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, People may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be kind anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed anyway. If you are honest and frank, people may cheat you; Be honest and frank anyway. What you spend years building, someone could destroy overnight; Build anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, they may be jealous; Be happy anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have, and it may never be enough; Give the world the best you’ve got anyway. You see, in the final analysis, it is between you and God; It was never between you and them anyway. People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered. Love them anyway. If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Do good anyway. If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway. The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway. The biggest people with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest people with the smallest minds. Think big anyway. People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs. Fight for the underdog anyway. What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway. People really need help, but may attack you if you help them. Help people anyway. Give the world the best you’ve got and you’ll get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you’ve got anyway. “Each spiritual journey begins with a step forward—the moment when you realize that there’s more to life than you’ve been living.” – Vicky Thompson “Here is the test to find whether your mission on Earth is finished: if you’re alive, it isn’t.” – Richard Bach “What a wonderful life I’ve had! I only wish I’d realized it sooner.” – Sidonie-Gabrielle Colette “The only time you really live fully is from thirty to sixty. The young are slaves to dreams; the old servants of regrets. Only the middle-aged have all their five senses in the keeping of their wits.” – Hervey Allen Anthony Adverse “If you think you’re too small to have an impact, try going to bed with a mosquito in the room.” – Dame Anita Roddick A Minneapolis couple decided to go to Florida to thaw out during a particularly icy winter. They planned to stay at the same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier. Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel schedules. So, the husband left Minnesota and flew to Florida on Thursday, with his wife flying down the following day. The husband checked into the hotel. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an email to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her email address, and without realizing his error, sent the email. Meanwhile, somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned home from her husband’s funeral. He was a minister who had passed away following a heart attack. The widow decided to check her email expecting messages from relatives and friends. After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted. The widow’s son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read: To: My Loving Wife Subject: I’ve Arrived Date: October 16, 2005 I know you’re surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now and you are allowed to send emails to your loved ones. I’ve just arrived and have been checked in. I’ve seen that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then! Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was. P. S. Sure is freaking hot down here! “The quality of your life is the quality of your relationships.” – Anthony Robbins “If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music, or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.” – Martin Luther King, Jr. If you get what you want in your struggle for self, and the world makes you king for a day, just go to the mirror and look at yourself, and see what that man has to say. For it isn’t your father, or mother, or brother, who upon you their judgment will pass. The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life is the one staring back from the glass. He’s the fellow to please – never mind all the rest! For he’s with you right up to the end. And you’ve passed your most difficult dangerous test, if the man in the glass is your friend. You may fool the world down the pathway of years, and get pats on the back, as you pass, but your final reward will be headache or tears, if you’ve cheated the man in the glass. “Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go out and do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” – Howard Thurman “Learn from yesterday, live for today and hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning.” – Albert Einstein “Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.” – Albert Einstein “Your life changes the moment you make a new, congruent and committed decision.” – Anthony Robbins “Midlife crisis is that moment when you realize your children and your clothes are about the same age.” – Bill Tammeus “For after all, the best thing one can do when it is raining is to let it rain.” – Henry Wadsworth Longfellow |
