Personal Revival - To Know Him More

Isaiah 57:15-16
God wants us to know Him better.
v.15 - Who is God? He's the One who lives forever. He inhabits eternity.
Matthew 5:6 - God will do His part if we will do our part.
Keys to Personal Revival:
- We must be dissatisfied with things the way they are.
  - It doesn't mean that anything is wrong, but that you are sick of just "as is."
  - Many people feel stuck just on the other side of salvation when God has something better for them.
  - There are too many "as is" churches, with "as is" preachers and leaders, preaching "as is" messages to "as is" Christians and church members, who go out in the world and live "as is."
  - If you fall asleep too close to where you got in, you might fall out.
- We must seek God's presence desperately.
  - Not emotionalism or fakeness, but urgent seriousness.
  - God should be our obsession, because of love - at least as much as our "toys," our positions in society, our jobs, our money, etc.
- We must come to the place of deep repentance. He will show us the things we need to change deep inside our lives. Are we willing to listen and truly turn away from the things that separate us from God?
- We must go to those we have wronged and make it right. Go and seek forgiveness from others. See to it that things are right - it is necessary. Don't just assume that everything is fine.
- We must position ourselves in the place where real revival comes.
  - Not a physical place like a church building, but a place in our lives.
  - It is a place of constant prayer - unceasing, relentless. We don't give up. We don't pray just when it's convenient or just when we are in trouble.
  - It is a place of love for the Word of God. It must be alive in us.
  - We must come to a place of total obedience. The Bible is not a "Book of Suggestions."
  - If we aren't in the right place, we stunt our own spiritual growth. We stand in the way of our own personal revial with the Lord.
