- Acts 26-- Paul's personal testimony. If God can forgive Saul, He can surely forgive us.
- v.19- We must be obedient as well.
- v.24- Worldly people will think that we are nuts for what we believe.
- v.28-29- The King almost became a Christian.
- It's either almost or altogether (and almost is never good enough).
- Almost is one of the saddest words in our language.
- Hell is filled with "Almost."
- God never does almost enough. He is enough.
- Almost tends to create waste or "leftovers"-- We are working towards a goal and we allow things to get in the way. We almost... (and then we drop everything; goals aren't completed). God can take us from almost to altogether.
- Will we be the kind of Christian that's altogether or almost? Are we playing games with God? What kinds of things will we let get in the way?
- Almost= honest, sincere, don't cheat, pays taxes and tithes, and does everything that's right, BUT says "no" to God when He asks for it all.
- We must not try to rationalize this away or make excuses for it. Carnality (serving any of our human desires instead of serving the Lord) will eventually destroy us.
- If we are almost, we are robbing God. We are allowing sin to control our lives (or at least a part of it) and God is to be over it all. Sin manipulates and then it asassinates.
- Altogether= To love God totally and to allow Him to have total control (Mark 12; Luke 5). This sounds like an impossible task, but it's not. It's a goal that we must always strive for and we need to have Christian friends that will encourage us to give God total control. We also must rely on Christ's strength within us.
- Which group are we in? Almost or Altogether?
