- Jesus gave himself up without a fight. He went through the ultimate torture and joke of a trial. He was beaten and spit on. A thorny crown was shoved onto His head. His beard was pulled out. What had He done that was so wrong?
- Hearts that day were so hard, that people were even mocking Him.
- "Save yourself..."
- The soldiers, the rulers, the religious people, and all who passed by mocked Him.
- We see this same hardness today.
- Lazarus was raised from the dead a few days earlier, yet they wanted to see Jesus "come down from the cross so they would believe."
- It seemed as though every single person turned against Him.
- The men that helped Jesus mocked Him.
- The same enemy that stirred this up is still working today.
- Christ certainly wasn't helpless, but He chose to go through with it because of His awesome love for us. What a fantastic, awesome sacrifice!
- He came as the Lamb for the sin of the world, but He'll return as the Lion.
- He grew the true that was crucified on.
- He spared nothing for our salvation-- He gave and put up with it all, just for us, just for me.
- Today, do we stand with the crowd and mock Jesus?
