- It's no problem to trust God with what we already know. The real test of trust is that we have to trust Him when we don't know the outcome. That is real trust.
- Hebrews 5:8
- We always try to avoid suffering-- nobody wants it.
- There are some things that only suffering can produce and teach.
- You never learn to sail of the sea is always still and calm.
- Genesis 22-- Abraham and Isaac. How far are we willing to go when it comes to trust in the Lord?
- What we experience is no coincidence.
- Troubles are often the tools that God uses to prepare us for bigger and better things. If He didn't, we'd never learn to trust Him and we'd always be trying to do everything on our own.
- Storms shape and form what they engulf and surround. God's voice will be in there somewhere. We must seek Him first (Matthew 6:33)
- It's important to leave the details to God (Daniel 3:17-18). If we focus only on the details, we tend to miss what God is trying to accomplish and we don't learn trust.
- Philippians 1:21-- No matter what, God delivers us. It's a win - win situation if we'll trust Him.
- God wants us to seek His face, not just so He can do things for us or deliver us, but so we can have a better relationship with Him. Do we desire to just be with Him?
- We often pray for deliverance, NOT so we can get closer to God, but so that we can escape suffering. With that attitude, we'll end up having to repeat the suffering until we do learn to be obedient.
- The enemy wants us to become preoccupied with what isn't in our lives-- "If I only had..."
- It all goes back to trust. Will we trust Him?
- Psalm 121:1-2
