Decide to get up thirty minutes earlier. Do this for a year, and you will add seven an one-half days to your waking world.
Don't be called out on strikes. Go down swinging. Cherish people for what they are, not for what you'd like them to be. Every morning in Africa, a gazelle wakes up. It knows it must run faster than the fastest lion or it will be killed. Every morning a lion wakes up. It knows it must outrun the slowest gazelle or it will starve to death. It doesn't matter whether you are a lion or a gazelle, when the sun comes up, you'd better be running. If you chase two rabbits, both will escape. Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow. A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, or the kind of car I drove. But the world may be different because I was important in the life of another person. Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look at what they can do when they stick together. If you pray, why worry? If you worry, why pray? If you please God, it doesn't matter who you displease. If you displease God, it doesn't matter who you please. |
The only difference between a rut and a grave is the depth.
Never be afraid to try something new. Remember, amateurs built the ark. Professionals built the Titanic. Some people are kind, polite, and sweet-spirited until you try to get into their pews or their favorite church parking spot. Many folks want to serve God, but only as advisers. It is easier to preach ten sermons than it is to live one. We were called to be witnesses, not lawyers. When you get to your wit's end, you'll find God lives there. People are funny. They want the front of the bus, middle of the road, and the back of the church. Opportunity may knock once, but temptation bangs on your door for years. |
