"Don't ever take a fence down until you know why it was put up." - Robert Frost
Why is it that our children can't read a Bible in school, but they can in prison? Don't be irreplaceable. If you can't be replaced, you can't be promoted. "Never cut what you can untie." - Joseph Joubert The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight, because by then your body and your fat are really good friends. My daughter asked me one time, "Daddy, before you married Mommy, who told you how to drive?" A persons right to smoke ends where the next persons nose begins. Don't forget, a person's greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated. Don't allow the phone to interrupt important moments. It's there for your convenience, not the caller's. Don't waste time grieving over past mistakes. Learn from them and move on. |
Don't major in minor things.
Praise in public. Criticize in private. Never cut what can be untied. Be modest. A lot was accomplished before you were born. Beware of the person who has nothing to lose. Don't burn bridges. You'll be surprised how many times you have to cross the same river. Don't spread yourself too thin. Learn to say "no" politely and quickly. Learn to disagree without being disagreeable. Beware of people who tell you how honest they are. Seek opportunity, not security. A boat in a harbor is safe, but in time its bottom will rot out. |
