I'll dread not the future, and fear not the foe, I am safe in his keeping wherever I go. No soul that has trusted Him will He forget; for he never has failed me yet!
One minister suggested that upon leaving the Garden of Eden, Adam may have said to his wife, "Eve, I believe we are in a period of transition." The trouble in the Garden of Eden was not the apple on the tree, but the pair on the ground. The finest friendships have been formed in mutual adversity, even as iron is united by the fiercest flame. Though some friends remain faithful to us in misfortune, only the truest will stand by us after our errors and sins have been exposed. Most people spend half their time wishing for things they could have if they didn't spend half their time wishing. Complete frustration is watching somebody else do something you said couldn't possibly be done. To obtain maximum attention, it's hard to beat a good, big mistake. Faults are like headlights on a car; those of others are more glaring than our own. The average time between throwing something out and needing it again is two weeks. Our past experience should be a guidepost, not a hitching post. |
Forbidden fruit is responsible for many a jam.
Good character, like good soup, is usually homemade. An understanding parent is one who's elated when the words written on the new wallpaper are spelled right. Why must the phrase "I know it's none of my business," always be followed by the word "but?" It's hard for kids to believe education was better years ago when we say the "3 R's" stood for Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic. Women are more irritable than men; the reason being that men are more irritating. A different world cannot be built by indifferent people. How come nearly all historical events happen next door to a souvenir shop? How come the person who snores always falls asleep first? What do butterflies get in their stomachs when they get nervous? |
