Love is not what makes the world go around. Love is what makes the ride worthwhile.
Time, like a snowflake, disappears while we're trying to decide what to do with it. A candle loses nothing of its light by lighting another candle. What is grace? Judas deceived Jesus; Thomas doubted Jesus; Peter denied Jesus; The disciples (except John) deserted Jesus; The Jews despised Jesus; The people denounced Jesus; The world destroyed Jesus; But Jesus loved them all and prayed "Father, forgive them." That is grace. Justice- administers what I deserve. Mercy- delivers me from what I deserve. Grace- bestows upon me what I will never deserve. Justice is a stern judge sitting on his bench, administering the law. Mercy is that same judge feeling the pain of the guilty one, understanding his problems and giving the lightest possible punishment. Grace is the judge removing his robes of office, standing with the guilty party, taking out his checkbook, paying the fine, then leading him to his own home and making him a member of his own family with all the rights and privileges of family membership! A person who is truly great is one who will take more than his share of the blame and less than his share of the credit. GRADUATION means: Going forward, Ready to Accept God's plan; Determined to Understand His Word; Alert to Temptations; Interested in Others; Never forgetting that Christ must be Lord of all. Grandchildren are God's compensation for growing older. A man who is truly great doesn't have to prove it; and if he isn't great, trying to prove it will do no good. |
A habit is a cable. We weave a thread of it everyday, until finally we cannot break it.
A hangover is the moaning after the night before. A hangover is something that afflicts a head that wasn't used the night before. Happiness is the dividend earned on a well invested life. Hate is an acid that can do more damage to the vessel in which it is stored than to the object on which it is poured. A person who is truly great is one who will take more than his share of the blame and less than his share of the credit. Happiness is a butterfly, which, when pursued, is always just beyond your grasp, but which, if you sit down quietly, may come to you. Happiness and joy are not synonymous. Happiness depends on "happenings." Happiness fluctuates according to circumstances, the weather, how the children behave, who won the ball game, etc. One stomachache destroys it. One cutting remark ruins it. One sleepless night diminishes it. But joy is independent of circumstances. Joy doesn't fluctuate. It is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow because joy depends on Jesus and He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Heredity is what a man believes in until his son begins to act like a delinquent. Heredity is something you believe in if your child receives all "A's." Holiness is a virtue that vanishes when you talk about it, but becomes gloriously conspicuous when you silently live it. |
