THE BOOK OF TAUNT
Jump to:

There are two kinds of people who never amount to much: those who can't do what they are told and those who can do nothing else.

The only people with whom you should try to get even are those who have helped you.

When a man becomes wealthy, the important question is: "Will God gain a fortune or lose a man?"

It is good to be wise, and wise to be good.

A wise man thinks what he says; a fool says what he thinks.

He is a wise man who knows what not to say.

Sharp words will upset the stomach, especially if you have to eat them.

Some people have an uncanny ability for compressing a minimum amount of thought into a maximum number of words.

When there's nothing more to be said, some people are still saying it.

I do not pray for a lighter load, but for a stronger back.

After all is said and done, there is much more said than done.

No work is so wearisome as doing nothing.

The quickest way to get a multitude of things accomplished is to do just one thing at a time.

It is better to say, "This one thing I do," than to say, "These forty things I dabble in."

The church is full of willing people-- some are willing to work and the others are willing to let them.

Those who joyfully leave everything in God's hand will eventually see God's hand in everything.

Worry is an emotion that can never empty tomorrow of its problems, but it does empty today of its strength. It does not help us escape evil, but it does make us ill-prepared to cope with it when and if it comes.

I joined the "Don't Worry Club," and I hold my breath; I'm so afraid I'll worry that I'm worried half to death!

Don't fret and worry about the future. Do what you know you ought to do today. The rest is God's responsibility. He has promised to be with us each step of the way. What more can we ask for?

Defeat can be the beginning of success... a colt is not much good until he's been broken. Neither are we.
