THE BOOK OF TAUNT
Jump to:

If life is a grind-- use it to sharpen your wits.

Blessed is the man who has learned to admire without envy, to follow without mimicking, to praise without flattery, and to lead without manipulation.

He who learns and learns, but acts not what he knows is like one who plows and plows, but never, never sows.

If you want to get a pail of milk, don't sit yourself on a stool in the middle of a field, hoping that a cow will come over to you. Go get it!

Many Christians are not "standing on the promises"; they are just sitting on the premises.

Statistics show that 10,000 people are killed by liquor for every person who is killed by a mad dog. So what do we do? We shoot the dog and license the liquor!

The difference between a necessity and a luxury is whether I have it or my friend has it.

A lie is a coward's way of getting out of trouble.

Mrs. Brown was shocked to learn that Johnny had told a lie. She took him to one side to graphically explain the consequences of falsehood, "A tall, ugly man with red fiery eyes and two sharp horns grabs little boys who tell lies and carries them off at night. He takes them to Mars where they have to work in a dark canyon for fifty years. Now, Johnny, you'll never tell a lie again, will you?" Johnny replied, "No, Mom-- you tell better ones than I can."

Those who tell white lies soon become color blind.

Change one letter in the word "united" and it reads "untied." That letter is "I."

We lose much by fearing to attempt.

The most difficult step is the first one.

Settle one difficulty and you keep hundreds away.

If you want to be the best at what you do, then you're going to have to make some sacrifices.

A lesson in mathematics: a little sin will add to your troubles, subtract from your energy, and multiply your difficulties, and divide your friends and family.

Few men ever grow up-- they merely change their toys.

Some people conduct their lives on the cafeteria plan-- self service only.

Middle age is the time when narrow waist and broad mind change places.

The greatest of all faults is to imagine you have none.
