"If you have knowledge let others light their candles at it." - Thomas Fuller
"Deciding to commit yourself to long-term results rather than short term fixes is as important as any decision you'll make in your lifetime." - Anthony Robbins, speaker and author Father: "My teenaged sons have learned at least one Bible memory verse. That would be Luke 24:41, where Jesus asks His disciples, 'Do you have anything here to eat?'" Knowing the Bible is one thing. Knowing the Author is another! "Iron rusts from disuse, stagnant water loses its purity, and in cold weather becomes frozen, even so does inaction sap the vigors of the mind." - Leonardo Da Vinci Temptations are rarely defeated while you're being tempted. It's defeated by the decisions we've made previously-- the boundaries we've setup before the "game" begins. The big key is for us to play by the rules we've decided on. Nobody can prevent the birds of temptation from flying around his or her head. He or she can prevent those birds from nesting. Temptation cannot defeat us until we choose to follow after it. The Lord always gives us an alternate path. DIAPER spelled backward is REPAID. Think about it... Everything comes to him that wants, if he works while he wants. The trouble with trouble is that it starts out as fun. Nobody's perfect, not even the perfect fool. |
It's easy enough to be pleasant when everything goes like a song. But the man worthwhile is the man who can smile when everything goes dead wrong.
The greatest ability is dependability. The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones. You can measure a man by the opposition it takes to discourage him. If you wish to destroy a castle, aim for the foundation. When life knocks you down to your knees, you are in a perfect position to pray. Don't be afraid of opposition- a kite rises against the wind, not with it. Most of us would get along well if we used the advice we give others. People are funny! Everyone wants to live a long time, but no one wants to get old. A man is always as young as he feels, but seldom as important. |
