Everyone is trying to accomplish something big, not realizing that life is made up of little things.
Faith is building on what you know is here, so you can reach what you know is there. To live only for some future goal is shallow. It's the sides of the mountain that sustain life, not the top. Against the assault of laughter, nothing can stand. The best cure for insomnia is a Monday morning. It's a strange world of language in which skating on thin ice can get you into hot water. Thorough preparation makes it's own luck. There is nothing worse than being a doer with nothing to do. There may be times when we are powerless to prevent injustice, but there must never be a time when we fail to protest. I would rather live in a world where my life is surrounded by mystery than live in a world so small that my mind could comprehend it. |
Divine resources are never exhausted.
My view is that to sit back and let fate play it's hand out and never influence it is not the way man was meant to operate. There is stuff we know we know, there is stuff we know we don't know, and there is stuff we don't know we don't know. We never know the love of a parent until we become one ourselves. The concept of two people living together for 25 years without a serious dispute suggests a lack of spirit only to be admired in sheep. It requires wisdom to understand wisdom; the music is nothing if the audience is deaf. Christianity begins where religion ends- with the resurrection. When we worry, we believe more in our problems than in God's promises. If you share another's burden, both of you will walk straighter. The time God allows us is always enough for the work He allots us. |
